1983 Hans Christian 44
Dave at 2 Best Days has always loved these boats, this one needs a decent amount of work and it is cheap. We would love to buy this if it was in California. It’s a great find for anyone looking for a Hans Christian fixer-upper in Massachusetts.
NEW LISTING, MORE DETAILS COMING SOON
Rare offering. Only 15 of the Hans Christian Pilothouse 44s were built, and this is hull number 10. These salty ships are modeled after the handsome North Sea motorsailers, and are designed and built for strength, safety & comfort. While they may appear to be more of a motorsailer, they have an underbody, and staysail ketch sail plan that is designed for sailing. Stepping below, the impeccably-finished Burmese teak, bronze fittings and marble detailing will satisfy the most discriminating tastes, and if long distance cruising is in your plans, you will appreciate the colossal storage capacity found in these vessels.
Carol Ann is a diamond in the rough and with a small amount of work you’ll have a rock solid world cruiser that is equipped and ready to go anywhere. The owner has started a project to repair a deck leak caused by a previous owner, and though the leak is repaired the project needs completion. Carol Ann was not launched this season and will consequently need a good cleaning as well as some brightwork renewal. The new owner will inherit a massive inventory of spare parts and tools, too numerous to list.
These boats rarely hit the market, and even more rarely (actually never) at this price range. Now’s your chance!
